Frequently Asked Questions
How would you describe your style?
Heavy narrative, big emotion. Audio is a huge part of our storytelling, so personal written vows resonate with us a lot.
Where are your packages?
I’ve opted out of the traditional three package structure, simply because I feel it’s completely unrealistic. There’s really no way to tell what the best way to tell a story is until after we’ve captured the wedding, gone through the footage, crafted a narrative and have the music laid out. The length it ends up being can vastly differ as every wedding and every couple is different, and it’s part of the trust you have in me as your videographer to tell your story in the best way possible.
How soon should I hire my videographer?
We usually book 8-14 months in advance.
How many videographers will be there on the day?
All packages include 2 shooters. The way we shoot requires us to be together at all times, so that we can get multiple angles of all the big moments, and have freedom in the edit to craft sequences etc.
How long will it take to receive my finished wedding film?
Depending on the time of the year it can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to receive your wedding film. In 2019, we averaged around 3-4 months.
Do you have recommendations for other great wedding professionals?
Absolutely! We have worked with lots of super talented and awesome wedding professionals. We only recommend the vendors we can trust to serve our couples the way they deserve.
What input do you want from us, and what do you prefer to have final say on?
Because what we do is extremely artistic and unique, we prefer not to be put into a box when it comes to the creativity of your wedding film. In our consultations we will do our best to figure out exactly what you want for your wedding film. We ask for the creative freedom to shoot and edit the film how we see necessary. Nothing makes our job harder than you giving us a list of 100 things that “must be filmed.” We do want to know anything very special that you want to make sure is on film (a grandma, a long-lost cousin, a formal exit etc)
What music will you use in our film?
We try to find songs that really suit you and your film. As a musician myself, I’m pretty confident that your film’s music will be perfect for your film. My style is fairly consistent in terms of the types of music I use, so if you love the music in my films, chances are you’ll love the music in yours!
What if I don’t like certain parts of my film?
This is always a sticky subject. At the end of the day we want you to be happy, but if we don’t have a policy in place sometimes things can get out of hand with moms, mothers-in-law, and family watching the film and wanting changes. After we deliver your film, we give you 1 week to proof the film and give us a green light before we post on social media. If you have any basic changes (add a shot of grandma, remove a shot of your brother’s ex girlfriend, etc.) we make one round of changes at no charge, at up to 1 hour of editing time. Any extensive edits (audio changes, timeline changes, etc.) are billed at an hourly rate set at the time of the changes. You are hiring us to be the professionals, and we take that very seriously. We know you are trusting our judgement to make the best film possible, with all of the context we have. We have seen all of the footage, we have listened to all of the speeches, and are going to put together the most flattering video possible.
Anything Else?
There’s hundreds of videographers and photographers out there, but finding one who you really connect with and value their work is so important. Truth is, you only get one chance to do it right. Videography is an entire different world than photography. Being able to hear voices and movement is just something photo can’t do, and is so so important to preserving these memories beyond our lifetimes.
